Dancer-Choreographer

Attributes his career in the arts to the strong reflection of his background which runs parallel to the motto of - Balancing tradition with modernity . His interest and passion for the performing arts took to a career in dance post his graduation in engineering. His  passion for the classical dance form of Kathak as well as Indian Contemporary Dance led him  to the Natya Institute of Kathak and Choreography,  where he began training under the mentorship of  Guru Dr. Maya Rao , Nikhil continued to train under Guru Smt Chitra Venugopal  and Madhu Nataraj respectively.  Presently he is pursuing my Masters in Kathak under Guru Shama Bhate.

he worked as the Principal Dancer of the Natya STEM Dance Kampni, one of India’s pioneering dance unit. As a Kampni dancer, he had the opportunity to perform and interact at many national and International festivals, most notably KhajurahoMahotsav, SangeetNatakAkademi Choreography festival (Manipur), SangeetNatakAkademi (Governemnt of India) YuvaPuraskar Awards, SAMAKALA- National Contemporary Dance Festival (Orissa),Prayatna Film and Dance Festival(Pune), LaMAMA festival(USA), Busan International Arts Festival( South Korea), Namate Russia(Moscow), Festival of India (Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan) and Bangalore International Arts Festival amongst others . He has  assisted in conducting workshops and other outreach programs at both national and international platforms. He was a part of the Cultural Delegation representing India which travelled to Russia, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and South Korea under the aegis of ICCR. He has toured USA and  UK with the Kampni (in collaboration with the National Dance Company Wales). He also was part of the only dance centric festival in Bangalore where in my contributions in design, marketing and event head were much appreciated. He stands today as a  young generation dancer who aims to establish myself in the performance and the entrepreneurial scenarios of the art world.
